Among the many writtings of Brother Thomas Jefferson, 3rd President of the United States, is his views of his own religion as found in a letter he wrote to John Adams: "My answer (to a letter from a mutual friend) was: "Say nothing of my religion. It is known to God and myself alone. Its evidence before the world is to be sought in my life; that has been honest and dutiful to society the religion whaich has regulated it cannot be a bad one." This is one of the main criteria of a candidate for Masonry, that he must believe in God! There are no other religious requirements, stipulations or declarations to be made
